Daisy’s meowing woke me up so I got up to check on her. I closed the patio door when the house across the street caught my eye. No one had been home for two days. The dogs weren’t outside the cat wasn’t outside. The motion sensor on the security was on. Then suddenly went out.

A sudden shiver of unease slithered down my spine.

I told Daisy to follow me into the bedroom.

I pointed to her cat tree which was at my bedroom window, the curtain partly open so she could see out. I was tucking Daisy into her cat tree when again my attention was drawn to the house across the street.

The house motion sensor flared on.

Yet nothing was there.

Sudden images of Kaeyko from the Grudge came to mind.

Nope.nope. Not happening.

This is karma for scaring the girls at work with my ghost stories.

I realized the time was 12:30 am!
