“It took me two hours to prize myself out of the bedroom”

The word should be pried 🤦‍♀️😂

I am in the bath reading Ruth Ware’s The Woman in Cabin 10

Maybe it’s just me but whenever I read a book with a British heroine I hear a British accent in my head.

Maybe it’s also just me but when I read mysteries or psychological thrillers I tend to let my paranoia nitpick every little bit of the book.

The heroine is Laura aka Lo. In the first chapter I discovered she was robbed. Her phone was the only thing taken.

Nothing else.

Later on, it is clarified she takes meds for a breakdown, she drinks, and she is emotionally volatile. She is tasked to write an article about a cruise ship on its maiden voyage. While on the cruise she sees something that she wasn’t supposed to see. But because of her “mental state” no one believes her.

I had to stop reading to take a breather! because I almost threw the book across the room! Or scream! I am having a freak out about the tech!

This woman is paranoid?!

But she never takes her phone with her!

Never has it on her person! She wants to be a reporter?!

Are you kidding me?!

She leaves it lying around!

Then is stunned, shocked horrified when it goes missing in her room on a cruise ship in the middle of an ocean?!!!

I take my phone everywhere!!! To the bathroom! When I shower! (Not in the shower) When I work! In my bedroom. I always have some sort of tech on me!

I am hyperventilating here!

Then she leaves the evidence out in plain sight!

Oh my god!

The insanity!

Although being off grid sounds lot better by the moment when I keep reading!

Alright I need to finish this book!
