FUZZY FEELINGS

Scott and I  were at the library. Studying. Late at night.

Listening to music on our playlists

“This is my favorite song” he announced suddenly. “Dance with me”

Confused, I glanced around. “Here? No way. I dont dance”

“Of course you can” he jumps on the table and starts to dance.

I try not to laugh, because he looks so ridiculous shaking his body.

He reaches down to pull me up on the table with him. “Come on, dance with me” his eyes are bright with humour.

“I told you I dont dance”

“I see you dance all the time!” he argues.

I make a sound of disbelief. “You do not!”

“I do when you clean.” he moves closer, taking my hand. “just do whatever the music makes you feel”

He sways his body close to mine. “Come on have some fun with me, Rebecca!” he coaxed his head lowers, his mouth inches away from mine.

My heart catches.

He dances away, his bum dropping into a twerk.

I was laughing as he sang along to the song, his body bumping into me. We were being so ridiculous.

The next song on his playlist was slow. “Uh oh, its a slow song” he warns me.

Without warning he hauls me close. “Shh” he whispers. “we have to be quiet”

I chuckle, as he wraps my arms around his neck. “just dont crush my toes” he teases.

Our bodies swaying close, his breath tickling my ear. “I haven’t had this much fun in a long time.” he murmured. “I haven’t laughed like that in a long time either.”

Not since Allison. Not since Kira. He wanted to say, I wondered.

“Is that a good thing?” I queried.

“Yes.” he chuckled. “You are exactly what I needed.”

-I woke up with warm fuzzy feelings.

Then I made the mistake of watching this week’s episode before bed.

What the hell was I thinking?!

I am going to have nightmares!

Nice dream while it lasted. You probably need to dance more.

Did you know that I almost became a professional dancer when I was 18? After I dropped out of high school (yep! I’m a dumb ass drop out) I had gone through gold level ballroom dance training, competed and got first places in national competitions, but I couldn’t deal with the hard sell of studio work. So I enrolled at the university and got a bachelor’s and a master’s degree. I’m like a classic American tale of bad boy, dumb ass drop out makes good for himself. 😉 But when I look back at all the things I’ve done, if you asked what I was best at I would have to say dance (I’m still a decent dancer).

Wow! Dancing takes a lot of discipline! That’s admirable! You’re a master of all trades!
I would like to dance like that, but I have no coordination 😒😂
And couldn’t dance to the beat if I tried.
But I love watching people dancing

But you can follow, so a good dance partner can make you look beautiful on the dance floor.

Lol yes it would take a good dancer to lead! I would probably crush their toes! ☺️

Only if you are leading will you crush toes. I have danced with a few women that were pretty much impossible to lead, but most women who don’t think they can dance I can make them look beautiful, like they know what they are doing.

We taught ballroom dance for several years as a ministry. I always emphasized teaching the men how to lead and making their partners look good. Steps are a dime a dozen, but looking good on the dance floor can be quite difficult. I’d rather see a couple do three easy steps and look beautiful doing them, than a couple doing 20 complicated steps and looking like crap. It’s all about style and beauty.

Did you see the movie Strictly Ballroom? I don’t like it because it’s too much like the real characters and personalities you have to deal with on the professional dance circuit. You think you have to deal with doozies at your work — be happy you don’t have to deal with professional ballroom dancers, their egos and screwed up personalities.

no i havent seen that one. I love dance movies. However one of my favorite was Take the Lead with Antonio Banderas. A dance teacher teaches ballroom dance to inner city kids. it really is a great movie.

Seen Take The Lead. We are suckers for dance movies as long as they have decent dancing.

OK. I do ‘solo’ dancing, but it isn’t anything I’d EVER want anyone to witness!!! LOL
